167: How to Give Advice to Your Friends in Mandarin Chinese

Sometimes we can’t always solve issues or problems ourselves and we need to turn to others for some assistance. What if someone asks you for your advice about something: can you understand their request or, more importantly, give an answer containing your advice to them?

In this Podcast, you will learn:

A:我最近总感觉很累。

Wǒ zuì jìn zǒng gǎn jué hěn lèi.

I always feel really tired recently.

B:嗯,我看你脸色也不太好。

En, wǒ kàn nǐ liǎn sè yě bù tài hǎo.

I can tell that you don’t look so good.

A:你倒是红光焕发啊。

Nǐ dào shi hóng guāng huàn fā a.

But you look great and glowing in contrast.

B:呵呵是吗?哎,我建议你啊,赶快戒烟戒酒吧!最好别熬夜。

Hē hē shì ma? Ai, wǒ jiàn yì nǐ a, gǎn kuài jiè yān jiè jiǔ ba! Zuì hǎo bié áo yè.

Do I? I suggest you stop smoking and drinking as soon as you can. You’d better not always stay up late too.

A:唉,说的容易,做起来难啊!

Ai, shuō de róng yì, zuò qǐ lái nán a!
