153: How to Talk About Your Recent Experiences in Mandarin Chinese

 It’s good to keep in touch with friends and colleagues whom you may not have seen recently. Find out what they have been doing, and what news they have about themselves and their lives. Are you able to talk about some of your recent experiences? Or ask others about theirs?

Two friends are talking about friends they haven’t seen for a while:

A:好久没和李红联系了,也不知道她最近怎么样了?

Hǎo jiǔ méi hé lǐ hóng lián xi le, yě bù zhī dào tā zuì jìn zěn me yàng le?

I haven’t been in touch with Li Hong for a long time. I’m not sure how she has been doing recently.

B:听说,她刚去法国进修回来。

Tīng shuō, tā gāng qù Fǎ Guó jìn xiū huí lái.

I heard that she just came back from advanced training in France.

A:是么!真棒。

Shì me! Zhēn bàng.

Is that so? Great!

B:你和王刚有联络么?他最近什么情况?

Nǐ hé Wáng Gāng yǒu lián luò me? Tā zuì jìn shén me qíng kuàng?

Have you contacted Wang Gang? How has he been doing recently?

A:有。他刚刚离婚。而且他工作也不顺心。这阵子一直在找工作呢。

Yǒu. Tā gāng gāng lí hūn. Ér qiě tā gōng zuò yě bù shùn xīn. Zhè zhèn zi yī zhí zài zhǎo gōng zuò ne.

I have. He just got divorced. And his work is not going well either. He has been

looking for jobs recently.
