100 Days No-Buy (or Setting Myself up to Fail Again) Vol.2

By Fleurissante

no buy title

Hello lovelies,

as you can see from the title, I’ve entered my decluttering phase. This is a third attempt at a proper, longer no-buy and I hope this time I’ll succeed (or at least fail at it later). As they say third time’s a charm.

As usually, it is motivated by me going through my make-up collection and realizing just how much stuff I have (by the way, are you interested in make-up collection inventory post)? In addition to that, lately I’ve been pretty bored and I’ve often found myself wanting to purchase stuff I don’t even like just for the sake of buying it. Fortunately, I had enough of self-control to press the little x in the upper corner. Most of my current lemmings were surprisingly make-up – I have an extensive nail polish wish list, but the number of over 100 untried nail polishes prevents me from buying them. I’m sure the majority of them will be there even when my no-buy ends.

Other than wanting to declutter, I need to save some money right now –  I have over 200 euros worth of skincare on my wishlist because I’m planning to get a year’s supply of skincare in one go. I thought about ordering it now, but I think it would be safer to wait until the summer is over, especially since I don’t plan to use the new stuff until I use the majority of what I have.

The rules of my no-buy are simple: DO NOT BUY BEAUTY PRODUCTS (this includes make-up, skincare, hair care, fragrance, nail polish). I can only purchase items I completely run out (yeah, like that’s gonna happen). My only exception is Feelunique summer sale during which I’m only allowed to buy items from my wishlist (on Pinterest) and only if they are at least 20% off.

I plan to post a haul soon, since I did buy some items after my no-buy June month (skincare and some make-up), but I’m still waiting for Caudalie set to arrive in mail so that I can post it all together.

I count July 3rd as the official start date, as I haven’t purchased anything after and the last day of my no-buy challenge will be on October 10th. I’m allowed to shop all I want on October 11th (hopefully, I’ll have some self-control).

I won’t update frequently – I don’t see a point in “all’s going well” weekly updates, but I’ll let you know about my progress.

Thank you for reading,

xoxo Tamara
