Being able to play a musical instrument is a special talent. If you can play you’ll probably want to let others know which instrument you can play. On the other hand, if someone else can play you will probably admire them.

A: 老张,听说你闺女会弹钢琴?Lǎo zhāng, tīng shuō nǐ guīnǚ huì dàn gāngqín?
Mr. Zhang: I heard your daughter can play the piano.
B: 对,她是钢琴十级。她现在又在学弹吉他呢。Duì, tā shì gāngqín shí jí. Tā xiànzài yòu zàixué dàn jítā ne.
Yes, she is doing piano grade 10. She is also learning to play the guitar.
A: 哎呦,她真棒!Āi yōu, tā zhēn bàng!
Wow, that’s amazing!
B:哪里哪里,她还差得远呢。听说你儿子会打架子鼓?Nǎlǐ nǎlǐ, tā hái chà dé yuǎn ne. Tīng shuō nǐ érzi huì dǎ jiàzi gǔ?
You are flattering me. She is far from perfect. I heard your son plays drums?
A: 是啊!他说他要组一个乐队。Shì a! Tā shuō tā yào zǔ yīgè yuèduì.
Yes, he said he wants to form a band.
B:他们都喜欢音乐,要不,我们找一天让他俩聊聊?Tāmen dōu xǐhuān yīnyuè, yào bù, wǒmen zhǎo yītiān ràng tā liǎ liáo liáo?
Well, if they both like music, how about we let them meet and talk someday?
A: 好啊!Hǎo a!

老张:Mr Zhang. 老+姓:(Old + Family Name) is a common expression to address people who are usually above the age of 50.
Eg.
老李:Mr Li
老黄:Mr. Huang
老杨:Mr. Yang
Please note three things about this expression:
(1) The relationship should be close with the person you are speaking to
(2) Do not use it in a formal business occasion
(3) Do not use it to address women
