Custom Made Clothing On A Budget: eShakti Review

By Fitfulfocus @fitfulfocus

Happy Fit & Fashionable Friday!

Did you have a good week? I sure did because a) it was my birthday and 2) I got to rock a brand new dress that I got from eShakti.com.

e-what now?

eShakti.com is the only online women’s fashion apparel company offering custom clothing in sizes 0-36W.

I’ve never had anything customized for me before. Well… ok… sometimes my mom will help take a dress in for me (it was WONDERFUL growing up with a mom who sews – thanks, Mom!), but I’ve never bought anything and had it perfectly tailored to my measurements. Needless to say, I was excited to try it out!

How does eShakti work?

It’s a cinch. You go on their website and find a piece you like. Once you choose, you can select a standard size or get a custom size. If you choose custom (like I did) you are then prompted to enter all your measurements. And I mean ALL.

Height, length of arm, upper arm, hip, waist, bust, underbust, chest, shoulder. Don’t worry, they show you how to take them all.

You also have the option to change the sleeve style, hem length, neckline, and other things, like pockets or no pockets. It’s pretty sweet.

The dress came very quickly after placing my order, which is always nice. We New Yorkers don’t like to wait.

I put it on, and have to say, it fits well and it’s really well made! The fabric is lovely. It’s lined – it’s a piece that will last quite a while. It’s also tailored perfectly in the shoulders and chest – a bit big around my hips, but better a little big than too tight.

As for the pockets – I usually LOVE pockets – like I get overly excited when I find out something has pockets, but if I were to go back and reorder, I’d probably get this dress without the pockets. I think it’s because the pattern of the dress is all paint-splattery, the pockets make it look kinda like a smock. WHOOPS!

But just throw on a leather jacket and boom, you go from paint-covered artist to city-chic gallery-goer.

Leather jackets solving first world problems, one outfit at a time.

Now, I know what the big question is – How much does it cost?! eShakti’s prices are amazingly affordable, especially when you consider the fact that you are getting it customized to your size and liking. While I got this dress for free, had I paid for it, it would have been less than $100. In fact, I just checked out the site, and it’s on sale $69.95!
