30 Minute Arms & Abs Workout

Fit and Focused Friends, meet Ashley from My Healthy, Happier Life. Ashley was one of my best running buddies back in NYC. I miss her tons, but I'm excited to have her on the blog today. Take it away, Ashley!

Good morning Fitful Focus readers! My name is Ashley and I'm a 33 year-old Southern transplant who calls New York home. For the past nine years I've been sharing my life and adventures with readers through my blog. My health and wellness blog, My Healthy, Happier Life, is a place where I share my attempt to find balance while living in New York City. Each day, I do my best to inspire my readers to live a balanced regardless their lifestyle as I balance corporate life with the roles of wife, friend, workout partner, blogger and now soon-to-be-mom. I believe that for life to be truly fulfilling, it must be balanced. While I workout five to six days a week and do my best to eat healthy, natural foods, I also enjoy rest days as well as time with friends and plenty of ice cream and chocolate.

Regardless the time of day that you choose to workout, I bet you've found yourself before thinking you didn't have enough time to squeeze in a workout. Whether you pushed snooze one too many times on the alarm clock or left the office later than you hoped, it's easy to make excuses. However, this workout is a great reminder that in even 30 minutes you can complete an effective, challenging workout. My favorite part about this workout is that you can do it on a weekly basis, without growing tired of it, since the cardio bursts can be changed depending your mood. Sometimes, if I'm looking for an especially challenging workout, I'll do 9 sets of burpees or other times I will switch things up and do a different cardio move for each one picking from mountain climbers, jumping jacks, speed skaters, burpees, treadmill sprints or rowing sprints.

Since this is such a short workout, I also find myself using it in hotel gyms when I travel. The last thing I want to do is spend more time than necessary at the gym while on vacation, so this workout is an easy way to break a sweat, fight jetlag and still get in and out of the gym in no time. Easy-to-follow and efficient, your arms will be burning in no time!

In case you have any questions about the exercises, here are links to each of them:

Keep in mind, the goal is quality not quantity for the number of repetitions during each minute. I hope you all enjoy this workout as much as I do!
