Zoya Nail Polish, The Greatest Polish of All?!?!

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig

When it comes to nail polish, I think Zoya polishes have to be my favorite brand! What makes them so great? Keep reading to find out!

In general, Zoya has an amazing formula! There are a few exceptions that I have found, for instance, the whites I have tried (a notoriously tricky color) are a little streaky as are the yellows (another general stinker). For the most part, the colors are very opaque, jellies and sheers excluded for obvious reasons, and often cover in only one coat! The colors wear well and are quite vibrant. As for the jellies and sheers, they are certainly buildable while maintaining their desired effect, though just one coat will usually give a sheer but even coat of polish. Overall, the coverage and finishes of Zoya polishes are truly superior at a comparable price to many mid-price brands!
In addition to being amazing formulas color-wise, the formula also is environmentally friendly and good for you…at least for a nail polish. All Zoya polishes are Vegan-Friendly, Paraben-free, formaldehyde-free, toluene-free, camphor-free, DBP-free and even gluten-free! The smell, though there if you take a direct whiff from the bottle, is not too noticeable as you are using the polish. Good-for-you nail polish that is also amazing quality? I’m sold!

The shade range is impressive and constantly growing with each season. There are many “standard” polish colors as well as an impressive range of more “wild” shades for those who tire of pinks and reds. They have a few mattes, plenty of shimmers, some glitters and flake polishes. Straight glitter is not hugely represented, but there are plenty of glitter/shimmer-infused shades available. Each major collection seems to include at least one sub-collection of crème finishes and another sub-collection of shimmery shades all in similar on-trend hues. There is a color for everyone in Zoya’s vast shade range.

I also really love Zoya’s packaging. I think it may have been what initially drew me to the brand. The bottles are a curvy tapered shape with a square bottom that just feels elegant when you hold it. They sit relatively well next to each other for storage purposes. I would say at least as well, probably better, than round bottles. The bottles really are quite graceful and beautiful! The brush comes with a nice, slightly tapered round handle that is neither too long nor too short, nor is it too thick or too thin. “Just right,” says Goldilocks! The brush bristles are packed in a thin, round shape that flattens out a bit when used. I find it very easy to paint my nails with this brush. It may take a bit longer than some of the wider brushes, but it also allows more room for error! All in all, very well designed packaging on the Zoya nail polishes!

I suppose if I had to find a complaint, it would be that Zoya polishes have been difficult to find locally. However, this is improving as the new collections seem to appear at my local Ulta as they are released. The back-selection is not so great, but maybe that is just my Ulta. Zoya polishes are available at select salons and the full range can be purchased from their website. Zoya’s website also runs specials from times to time and their Facebook and Twotter Flash sales are AMAZING! Definitely follow them to keep up to date with plenty of offers, many of which I believe are Twitter/Facebook exclusives. The retail price of a Zoya nail polish is $8.00.
