Zoya Akhtar’s ‘ZNMD’ Bagged 6 Awards At 7th Annual Apsara Awards 2012Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Award is one of the major award events of Bollywood film industry. The award is given to recognize outstanding performances by its members.

The 7th Annual Apsara Awards which took place on 25th January, 2012 was a star studded night. Filmmakers Karan Johar and Farah Khan hosted the award function.

“Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ (ZNMD), a film by Zoya Akhtar bagged 6 awards, including the best film and the best director. Besides winning the best director trophy, Zoya walked away with awards for the best screenplay and shared the best story award with Reema Kagti for ZNMD.

Ranbir Kapoor won the best Actor award for his performance in ‘Rockstar’ while Vidya Balan won the best Actress award for her performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’.

Best Supporting actor award was won by Farhan Akhtar and Bosco-Caesar won the best Choreography award for the film ZNMD. Best Supporting actress award was won by Parineeti Chopra for her performance in ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’. Best actor in a negative role award went to Praksash Raj for his performance in ‘Singham’.

Best Male playback singer award was won by Mohit Chauhan for ‘Saada Haq’ (Rockstar) and Best Female playback singer award was won by Shreya Ghoshal for ‘Teri Meri’ (Bodyguard).

In the technical award category, Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Saath Khoon Maaf’ won awards for the best art direction (Subrata Chakraborty and Punita Grover), best Costume design (Payal Saluja). The Cinematography award was shared by Ranjan Palit (Saath Khoon Maaf) and Chirantam Das (Tanu Weds Manu).

Asia’s sexiest lady, Kareena Kapoor danced to some of the most popular South Indian hit songs like ‘Kolaveri Di’, ‘Nakka Mukka’ and ‘Ringa Ringa’.

Shahrukh Khan hosted a special segment which was dedicated to the legends of Indian Cinema and their glorious years in the industry.
