This romper was by far my favorite steal from the Shopbop Sale. It is classic, and I can really wear it year round, just by itself in the spring/summer and with tights & a blazer in the winter. I also just found this Kenneth Jay Lane necklace from a little boutique called Gaucho in Savannah (on sale) and am in love with it. Ever since I was a teenager, I have loved Kenneth Jay Lane‘s costume jewelry. I actually met Lane one time while I was interning for Tibi and in town for Spring/Summer 11′ NYFW, and it is a funny story!
Tibi had let me borrow a dress and I was frantically cabbing around New York to find the perfect necklace to go with the strapless dress. When I thought of Kenneth Jay Lane, I googled mapped the name thinking their would surely be a boutique of some sort. I got a midtown address, which I at first thought was weird because I thought a boutique would be in another part of the city. When I got there, I realized that it was not a boutique as the location was on the 8th or 9th floor. I went up anyway as I was desperate to find something to find that it was the Kenneth Jay Lane‘s showroom. Kenneth Jay Lane’s secretary informed me that I could not purchase anything from this location, but Mr. Lane himself had over heard the conversation and let me pick out a necklace…and I got to meet him! I picked out this chunky gold chain that will always have a special memory attached.
