Workplace/Interview Lipsticks - What Is Appropriate?

By Sarahhhp @SarahhhP
I'm a big fan of a bright lip, though unfortunately, working in the legal profession means that I am not always able to indulge in some of the more 'shocking' shades I would like to be sporting.
Until not long ago, this being the case, I would have opted for a swipe of my favorite lip balm and left it at that. Recently though, I have ventured over to the dark side (or the light side in this instance), where I have been rather enjoying what some of the more 'neutral' offerings have to give.

I have always found it difficult to unearth a flattering nude for my lips. They're pretty rosy in their natural state and so I often encounter the dreaded cakey/flaky build up of product that becomes so much more noticeable with lighter colours. However, some of my latest discoveries when combined with a more dedicated lip 'conditioning' routine seem to be working a treat. I won't be ditching my 'Lady Danger' quite yet, but I have definitely had my horizons well and truly broadened.
As I know a lot of people tend to struggle/panic when it comes to deciding what is and what isn't office appropriate, I thought I would therefore, share with you all what have been my go to lip products of late.
I know that some hard-core 'neutral' fans out there might disagree with me on the validity of some of these choices as far as their fitting into the category is concerned. But for me, if I want to avoid the 'foundation lips' look, this is as far as I am able to stray!
What are everyone else's staple lip products when it comes to wear within the workplace?
