Workout Wednesday…. and Other Shenanigans!

I bet you were all wondering what was going on with my running and workouts and overall health. You see I’ve been a lot of reading and music posts, but I know you’ve been thinking “where ARE her running reports?”

Workout Wednesday…. and other shenanigans!

Next, I’m excited to also report that I’ve been selected as a Race Ambassador for a great race in Tampa, Florida (near where I live now), and that race is December 16, 2018 – it’s the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K!! If you use my code, you can get a special gift too, so be sure to remember to use TAMPADEBI18 for a Hot Chocolate free baseball cap when you register for this race!

So instead of a running report today, I’m sharing my Workout Wednesday post because that’s what I’ve mostly been doing. You see, back in August of 2017 I decided to start making some changes in my eating to drop some of the crazy weight I had been gaining for the past couple of years.  I stopped working out for a while (including running), and focused on the kitchen. I had shared some of the details of this in my January post, but basically I’ve dropped about 35 pounds.  Here’s a pic of Easter 2017 on the left and two weeks ago on the right:

Things have definitely changed.  Now that I have the eating in order, I’ve returned to bootcamp to get my strength back so I can be a stronger runner.  Here’s a few photos of “yours truly” pushing her way through 5AM bootcamp:

So what’s next? I am running the inaugural Skyway 10K – it’s on Sunday, March 3.  Although I don’t have a lot of running training behind me, I’ve got some leg strength thanks to bootcamp so maybe I’ll have a decent result. A ton of my friends are going, even a friend of one of my fellow Cleveland Marathon Ambassadors is coming down and we’re going to try and get a selfie together:)

After the Skyway 10K, I’m going to start doing a little better on my running and will report on the results next week.  After all, the Cleveland Rite Aid Marathon Series is only 80 days away!!! I’m signed up for the 8K on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday!!
