Words on Wisdom

By Sofia Essen @GetYourUnique

My name is Sofia, which means wisdom in Greek. Personally, I don’t think having wisdom necessarily means that someone is all-knowing. I believe wisdom comes in many shapes and forms. Let me use myself as an example:

– I’m wise enough to ask questions when I have trouble finding an answer.

– I’m wise enough to admit when I’m wrong.

– I’m wise enough to know what my strengths and my weaknesses are.

– I’m wise enough to not compare myself to others and focus on being the best version of myself instead.

I’m wise enough to know all of the above. But I’ll never be wise enough. In terms of possessions, I am a minimalist. When it comes to wisdom, however, I know I will always strive to collect more. In this case, less is not more.

My name means wisdom but I’m not all-knowing. No one really knows it all. Having said this, there is one thing that I do know for sure…

You only get one life, so make the most of it. And making the most of it doesn’t have to be an extravagant endeavor. Do something that puts a smile on your face. Have a piece of cake for breakfast. Put on your favorite outfit. Listen to an upbeat song. Personally, I recommend Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now by Jefferson Starship. It’s a great way to kick off the week and stave off the Monday Blues.

My famous last words for today:

Wisdom is knowing that you’ll never know it all. But stay smart and keep learning.

That’s all for now. Have a great week ahead!
