WIP...From Black and White You Turn to Grey...

It was a Friday morning …“Oh my Gosh” I’m late Sarah sighs… not again my boss is going to kill me. The tiny voice in her head goes again or just kill him. “Oh not again she says this voice has got to leave me”. “You are a liar” she yells.Justin walks in and asks her who is shutting up? “Nothing Baby” she lies. She got to work that morning afraid of what being late again might do to her dream of a promotion, she really needed one if she was going to keep taking care of her live in boyfriend. She quickly made her way into her boss Harry’s office making the most cute of faces “anything to get the promotion” she thought to herself.

“You will not get this promotion” Harry squeals, “you are the laziest person I know” he continues until suddenly, Sarah unbuttons her shirt and asks  “is this lazy too”? Harry mutters something inchoherent about his wife and twin daughters but  before he knew what was happening  Sara helped herself to him. Harry figures oh it couldn’t be so bad… he gives in. The weekend was  not so great for sarah, she could not celebrate the promotion because that would mean a huge fight with Justin. “What if he questions me, what will I tell him, how do I explain the sudden promotion”?  “My life wasn't like this what is wrong with me?, I don't know what to do”… Those were the thoughts running through her mind. She walked on eggshells through out that weekend.Hey! I got the promotion she said proudly on Monday morning as she struts into the office, no one refuses me she said to Peter as she hands him her briefcase. Peter  is just an assistant with the firm but now has become Sara’s assistance due to the promotion.  Stare much?? Sara yells as she catches him staring at her. Oh thanks for my files she says nonchallantly I guess that’s why  you were staring! Peter shrugs and walks away.         April 1981Who is this cutie? Mr Slater asks Sara’s mom smiles and says oh that’s our daughter, isn’t  she is the cutest of them all?  They chat as they watched Sara and the other kids play in the park. “You know I stopped practicing law because I wanted to stay at home and care of Sara” she says, “me too I stopped making movies but our son is adorable”. “My Sara, she is so adorable, kind and generous” , “You know, she is precocious and it amazes me”. “Really? I wish my son grows up to be that way” Mr Slater sighs… Today…Sara! The the editor in chief calls its your first day as an editor and you want to spend it sleeping, that’s not going to happen, chop chop he called.  Oh no! she says rubbing her eyes I’m so sorry I drifted off for a moment. Back to work the editor in chief barks.
