The truth is that Israel could make peace with Syria if they gave them back the Golan. Assad would sell out Arabism, anti-Zionism, the Palestinians, anti-imperialism, the whole nine yards, just to get the Golan back. He only holds that Palestinian card as ransom to try to force the Israelis to give back the Golan.
