One often wonders why NATO intervened in Libya with such deadly force. It turns that the intervention was 100% based on turning Libya into a neoliberal regime. So this intervention, like Iraq, Grenada, Yugoslavia and so many others by the United Snakes, was really about radical capitalist economics more than it was about anything else at all. It was the neoliberals who got NATO involved in the first place, and it was in the name of neoliberalism and neoliberalism only that the used of armed force by the West was initiated.
One of the first things that the Revolutionary Council when it took power in Libya was to set up a Central Bank. This was a central demand of the forces of Western imperialism, including the World Bank, the IMF and the Great Satan. As Prashad notes, he has never heard of any revolutionary movement anywhere setting up a Central Bank as one of their first orders of business.
So NATO as in Yugoslavia is really the armed face of world capitalism, specifically the banksters in the IMF and World Bank who truly run the whole world and own every single government in the West. NATO is the armed facet of the neoliberal movement, of the bankers of the world. Funny how nobody ever tells you that.
