Whose Child is This?

TRUE STORY (New Year 2013): Two ladies from the Sunflower State decided to have a baby so they called upon a male friend to donate some sperm and got a do-it-a-home kit. Of course "T's were crossed and "I"s were supposedly dotted regarding any claim of paternity on behalf off the donor. Sure enough they got pregnant. Here is were that lovely story sours. The mom had little to no resources so she decided to ask the State of Kansas for assistance. The latter is aggressively geared like all other states of the Union to find the responsible male, otherwise nicknamed the dead-beat father, which they did. Despite all his "hold harmless" paperwork and denial of responsibility he was hit with a $6,000 child support tab! That is obviously only the beginning. The child is an infant still!First morale of the story, the entire administration, government and law enforcement of the states and the nation are all too focused on the dead-beat fathers. Anytime a baby needs assistance they automatically go into find the dead-beat dad mode without even pondering the circumstances and specifics of the case. Now more than ever since most of the states are broke. They are wired to follow the money trail or in this case follow the sperm trail to the money. Since it is 2013 after all and scenarios similar to our Kansan story are more common every day, the states should reconsider their antiquated dad-beating policies that have been stereotyped by Hollywood and past court dockets. After all this is the Millennium of the Woman! 
The Second morale of this story goes directly to the sense of personal responsibility. Why on earth would these sunflowers even consider to have a child if they cannot support it and need state assistance. I can understand if the child was natural and came out of a relationship or wedlock. Those you are "stuck" with (most of the time) but WHY go through all these hoops to have a biological child that you cannot afford. Adopting would have made more sense....but they would have been means tested so that would not have worked! How about going to a clinic and have an anonymous donor...but that would have also invited some scrutiny. Why not stick it to the State? After all the Octomom did it to California didn't she?Apparently if they did go to a clinic and received an anonymous donation, the poor guy would have been home free. No Good Deed Remains Unpunished!
