Whole Love For Half Light ...

Though it was quite some time ago, you may remember a little duo from Leeds called Fossil Collective that we wrote of a few times. Since their last EP, we hadn't heard a whole lot from them, but now it seems they are shooting back at us with something that is sure to make your heart melt. Their next single is called Half Light and this wonderfully light and subtle track reminds us of some of our favourites.
Whole Love For Half Light ...They seem to have stuck with their slower approach to music this time round and we think that was the right think to do. The vocal is very dusty, but sat next to that beautiful little guitar ... and the fact that the Autumnal weather is soon to be kicking in too, it all blends bloody well and makes for some incredible easy listening that you could imagine next to an open fire or under the stars.
The likes of Paolo Nutini crop up in our minds, though, this is most definitely not to forget acts such as Fleet Foxes, whom we've previously compared these two too.
There's a lightness about it all that really does slow it down and, actually, bears a completely different soul to their previous work. It's funny really, that a group like this, have been capable of changing and slowing down their repertoire twice over and we still fall in love with them in exactly the same way. This, for us, shows a lot of promise and suggests that, no matter what they make, we think their talent shines through and means that these boys are here to stay.
Paul.
