Very famous actress, with short hair this time.
Here is another photo of her.
The same actress with her hair in the way she most often wore it.
Although she acted a long time ago and she is long since dead, she is knows as one of the greatest and most famous actresses of the 20th Century. She was recently voted the 3rd best actress of all time by the American Film Institute. She is one of the few actress to have won Academy, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy Awards. She made most of her movies in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
She was recognized as a style icon due her hair and clothing styles. For decades, women imitated her look. Nevertheless, she had a rather simple and understated fashion appearance – a “no frills” look. Some say that in her movies, her outfits were as much stars of the movie as she was. In her private life, she preferred simple and casual clothing in opposition to the haute couture style of her movies. Her image is still used to this day in advertising because she is considered her own “brand.” And women continue to imitate her look even after she has been dead for 25 years. However, her looks appealed more to women because she was thin, with men preferring say, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor due to their more curvaceous features.
She was named the Most Beautiful Woman of All Time and The Most Beautiful Woman of the 20th Century by Evian and QVC. Despite being one of the most beautiful woman of her era, like so many women, she was deeply insecure about her looks and she never thought she was attractive. She was always too tall, too fat, or maybe just plain ugly.
She made only a few movies in the 1970’s and 1980’s and she died in the early 1990’s of abdominal cancer. In her later years, she committed herself to humanitarian work.
Her first marriage was to Will Ferrer, and somewhat well-known actor of his time. Her next two marriages were to lesser known actors.
If I had to sum up my opinion of this woman in one word, it was be class. She epitomized classiness and continues to, even in her death.
