We had our first BOAT FIRE today. Pete was welding on the new steering console and I guess a bunch on insulation and tape caught fire between the deck and ceiling. It was pretty crazy, it was only about 15 seconds from when he yelled for water until the time it was put out and see how much damage was done. Actually a lot of it is smoke that came off later with a cloth but we lost a pair of sheets and burnt a hole in our mattress. Not too sure where Carl is going to sleep tonight, the bed is drenched on his side. We ended up dumping a bunch of river water down the welded hole which was soaked up by the mattress.

It didn’t take long for the boat to fill with smoke, fires happen in a flash on boats. Glad we got to it in time and it didn’t spread under the head liner.
During all the chaos little Wags managed to have a blow out of her own with diarrhea reaching all the way up her back. Stripping her down it even got chunked up in her hair. Carl hosed out the poopy clothes on the dock, some helpers where wiping away smoke from the ceiling and I was cleaning poop out of hair. Good team work by all.
“Daddy you’re not going to be happy…… there’s smoke in your bedroom”
