What to Wear to a Spring Wedding

By Mummyoftwo @RaspberryGiggle

Your best friend is getting married. You've stuck by each other through thick and thin, and now she is marrying the man (or woman thanks to the legalisation of gay marriage) of her dreams. Not only do you need to help her plan the big day, but you need to decide what show-stopping outfit to wear.

It is with care that you make this choice and with a flurry of spring weddings on the horizon, the possibilities are widened. You can dust off your summer holiday wardrobe and alter it to make a fabulous first impression...

Let's go for style and timeless elegance

Although the sun may be shining, it may also still be nippy so with a timeless and classic feminine look you could have your perfect wedding outfit for years to come. An A-line cotton sleeveless dress with a black bow creates the perfect female silhouette. Team this with a shawl, pashmina or bolero jacket. Match it with Christian Louboutin T Slick 100 patent leather pumps and a Mary Katrantzou printed leather pouch. And of course, the high street can provide you with just as good affordable options.

Match your accessories

With a classy look you may like to top it all off with a delicate Primerose II straw hat with pearl veiling from Piers Anderson or perhaps a coordinated black netted pill hat, you will be elegantly veiled from Coast or a tipped bow & mesh fascinator from M&S.

Opting for a modern floral suit look

Here you can wear a bright yellow floral pencil Jacquard skirt with a racer back stain carni accompanied by a short tuxedo, The Kooples jacket with the perfect satin collar that will be delightfully finished with the limited Connie High Block ankle shoes in white and black with the Pom Pom beret from Kate Underdown that will rock the house with the now style.

For this style you will need to also add a beige toned jacket or shawl otherwise head straight for the two-tone Zara embellished neckline, sleeveless dress with the Bayswater clutch wallet metallic mushroom goat and the must Lanvin metallic block-heel sandals with make-up subtly matching up. Now is your chance to wear the Lombardy hat with two toned feathers adding to the spectacular effect.

Flower power will set the tone for spring

Go all out with floral in a Givenchy floral-print-cotton drill blazer and straight leg trouser suit that will suit the Mia sandal and Stationery clutch bag to exquisite perfection. Flaunt it with a Philip Treacy ornate beret with an orchid trim to reinvent the concept of springtime.

With the return to the Jackie O iconic statement

The solid emerald green in the Jackie O dress with a high feminine waistline and mid sleeves will emit the right aura. Paired off with a Vivienne Westwood necklace, the netted pill hat and matching gloves with the Jester kitten heels in faux alligator and you have it!

Everything is said in the print

Nothing quite compares to the printed silk, short sleeved dress from Wishbone with the white Theyskens' theory blazer plus some Charlotte Olympia flats if heels and pumps are not your style. Add the Love Rocks multiple stone articulated hair clip that will suit the ensemble to perfection.

These selections will put a spring in your step!
