What to Read This Week: Noir Covers and Murderous Mistresses

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Here are the books I’m adding to my to read list this week and think you should too!  (I apologize about the shortness of this post, it almost didn’t get written so I made it short and called it quits, but the books are still good so I suggest you look at them via goodreads).

Evil Eye: Four Novellas of Love Gone Wrong by Joyce Carol Oates: This book is just what it claims to be.  4 short novels about when love goes terribly, terribly wrong.  I’m  all for a good novel where love goes wrong and mistresses turn murderer so I can’t wait to snuggle up with these enchanting tales when it gets dark early and it’s cold outside.

Identical by Scott Turow: This author was listed as one of Grisham’s inspirations, but as I’ve never read a Grisham novel I can’t say whether or not I’m impressed by this.  The book sounds interesting .  Identical twin brothers one mayoral candidate and one convicted murderer come together late in life. But as with all identical twins, things aren’t what they seem and there will be nothing but devious behavior and plot twists abound.

The Secret Lives of Married Women by Elissa Wald: two identical sisters with very different attitudes about sex are about to have their darkest secrets revealed to he rest of the world.  With a noir cover like this I really don’t think you should need any other prompting to read this book well into the night.
