Here’s a list of what I’m adding to my to-read list this week and think you should too! And I’m adding something a little different at the end, just to see what books you’re interested in so I can keep updating the blog with content we all love and get feedback from all my fabulous readers, so be sure to answer the poll when you’re done!
The Never List by Koethi Zan: Sarah and Jennifer have a never list, a list of thins neither of them should ever do in any circumstances. But after a fateful car ride changes their life the girls find themselves in a dungeon, trapped for the next three years. Sarah escapes. Jennifer doesn’t. Ten years later Sarah has finally gotten up the nerve to head back to that dungeon and confront her captor. I received an ARC via Netgalley and am looking forward to seeing what the mystery is all about. The book has gotten mixed reviews but I’m willing to give it a try.
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness: Todd lives in a town where everyone can hear everyone else’s thoughts and that’s the way it’s been his whole life. But then he and his dog go for a long walk and find out there is a small slice of silence in their town, which is a good thing, because it’s filled with secrets. The first book in a series I’m interested to see how Ness branches this sci-fi topic out into a series.
The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro: This book received a lot of critical attention when it first came out and I kind of ignored it, but I thought I’d give it a try after seeing it pop up yet again in my recommended reads list. Claire is an artist making ends meet by creating recreations of famous pieces for an online retailer. Then she receives a proposition, recreate a famous, formerly stolen Degas in exchange for a one woman show at a high powered gallery. Then the original Degas shows up at Claire’s door and she begins to wonder what the art heist is all about…
