I’m not sure why, but last weekend the ol’ fedora was calling my name. Are people still into fedoras? Are the so last year? I don’t know, and honestly I really don’t care. I still love mine. I’ll blame it on the face that I’m a fair-skinned beauty who needs the sun out of her face. I also just feel really cool when I wear one.
Saturday, I was spending an afternoon at the boat basin. I originally had a shorter dress with combat boots and a grandpa sweater picked out, but upon facing casper’s my sun-deprived legs I quickly changed my mind. Maxi skirt is is! I love pairing my fedora with this maxi because they both have little black bands on them. It’s like they were made for each other…
On Sunday, I re-worked that fedora with a pair of high-waisted navy shorts (Urban Outfitters, similar here), skinny braided belt (Nordstrom BP, similar here), red Ray-Ban wayfarers, and classic gray tank. I threw on a slouchy beige jacke (similar here) t as there was a slight breeze. Since we were spending the day picnicking in the park, I had my camera in tow and a great little picnic basket from Grey Goose.
Picnic in Central Park by jfeakins86 featuring a straw fedora As for make-up, I kept it extremely simple. Sunday is kind of a day off for my skin. I just slathered on some Neutrogena Ultra Sheer block (SPF 30,) some Nars bronzer, and a sheer pink Juicy Tube from Lancôme. Of course, mascara is my obsession, so I couldn’t go without. I was recently gifted Benefit’s They’re Real mascara in brown, which is perfect for that naturally beautiful look. Sunday Makeup by jfeakins86 featuring neutrogena makeup
