As I mentioned last week, I went on a baby road trip. Well, it was a long ass drive, but a really short stay! Anyway, I promised to share what I actually used while I was gone. If you didn't see what I actually packed, check out that post here. And now, here's what I actually used on my trip! J
Keeping with last week's post, I will start with the face brushes I used. I didn't bring all that many to begin with. The brushes that I actually pulled outta the bag were the Real Techniques Blush Brush for powder, and the IT Cosmetics French Boutique Blush Brush for blush. I love this brush so much for blush! It is absolutely perfect and places blush in the perfect spot every time! Everyone needs this blush brush!
I really didn't use any eye brushes because I really didn't wear any eye shadow! However, I did set my concealer with powder using either the Urban Decay Blender and the bdellium Tools Green Bambu 785. I also used my Shu Uemera Eye Lash Curler, which I've been using a lot lately. It's not a cruelty-free brand (in fact, I'm not sure this is even still made), but I've had it forever and I like it. The Tarte eye lash curler is just as good and is cruelty-free, I just never seem to have it handy (I have a full review of the Tarte Eye Lash Curler here).
On to the makeup! I kind of assumed I wouldn't end up wearing any makeup because I wasn't really doing anything in particular. I did wear some makeup, but not tons. For the face, I stuck to my staples. I used the BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector (see my review here), then I used the Tarte Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush to apply the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Powder Foundation in the shade “Fair-Light Neutral” (see my full review here). To conceal under my eyes, I've been using the Physician's Formula Conceal Rx Concealer in "Fair Light," and I used it religiously while I was gone! I just relied on the Tarte Foundation to cover up the blemishes I had, though I could have used this if I wanted to take the time - but I didn't! J I also used my Urban Decay De-Slick Powder for touch ups on the drive there, but I didn't really need it while I was gone, so I forgot to include it in the photo.
For blush, I only used the IT Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush in "Matte Sweet Apple." I absolutely love this blush! It's such a beautiful reddish shade and it lasts really well! It blends beautifully and is just a great, highly pigmented blush.
As I said before, for my eye area, I didn't use any shadow. That doesn't mean my eyes were completely naked though! J I filled in my brows with the Tarte Brow Architect brow pencil (see the full review here). I also used my little sample of the new Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, which is really amazing! It may just be my new favorite mascara!!! I did use my IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes! mascara as well. It's not as volumizing as the Too Faced, but it's still a great mascara. And finally, I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in "Zero," but only for tightlining my upper waterline. I kept the eyes simple...well, it was actually more for ease and convenience, but it worked! J
Lastly, for my lips I used all but one of the products I brought. Well, technically, I wore one on the drive down and didn't really use it again, but I did touch it up at rest stops. J That would be the OCC Lip Tar Stained Gloss in "Jealous." Lip Tars are wonderful, but I typically go for sheerer shades on an every day basis. The Stained Glosses are perfect for that! J And the little brush and pouch that OCC includes with them now makes it convenient enough for taking with you for touch ups! I also used the Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in "Sunburst" because it's so easy and very comfortable. And finally, I used the Stila Afterglow Lip Color in "Electric Pink." I love this color and the formula is amazing too! For a full review, check it out here.
That's pretty much it! I went for quick, easy and simple. It's not dissimilar from my everyday type of makeup look. And I actually did use a lot of what I brought with me, much to my own amazement! J I hope this was at least somewhat interesting! I always like seeing what's in other people's makeup bags. It gives you a sense of what products people really love and what they consider to be reliable or multi-purpose products. So, I hope you enjoyed! And let me know in the Comments what you can't leave home without!!! J
