What Have You Been Watching? #7

Posted on the 20 August 2012 by Impsndcnma @impsndcnma

Every Monday we can talk about what we watched over the weekend. I’d enjoy hearing what new movies, games, or televisions shows were seen over the weekend. This is what I’ve been watching this weekend.

What Have You Been Watching?

August 20th 2012 Edition

Let me just start with saying R.I.P. to two fine entertainers, Tony Scott and Phyllis Diller. You will be missed.

Secondly, there was more cleaning and organizing over the weekend. I shot a time-lapse video of my fiancé putting up our Kitchen Backsplash. Here it is for your enjoyment.

Lastly, I started job search last week and today I already had my first interview. How about that! Hopefully it will bring about a job, but I’m pretty excited about being given the chance to interview.

On to the Entertainment!

Movies:

Beasts of the Southern Wild – I was finally able to see the indie film that is taking the world by storm. I’ll have my review up in the next 48 hours so keep a look out for it.

JAWS – I’ve seen Jaws many times before, but not like this. It was amazing to see the remastered Blu-ray with the corrected video. What made it even more fun was that my fiancé had never seen the movie before so I was laughing every time she screamed. The movie still holds up wonderfully today. I think part of the reason is because they made a robotic shark and weren’t able to rely on CGI.

Video Games:

New Super Mario Bros. 2 – Just downloaded this to my 3DS yesterday. I don’t expect it to last very long since I’m a pro at Mario games, but I’m still disappointed that there isn’t much new here. The emphasis on collecting coins bothers me to some extent as well. Thankfully the 2D platforming is still the best in the game.

Persona 4 Arena (Week 2)- I’ve now played over 75 online matches and completed two story-lines and three arcade runs. I love this game. I fully expect to continue playing it until completion, but I’m so surprised at just how good it is. They could’ve easily made a bad fighting game and I still would’ve bought it. The fact that it’s an incredible fighting game is icing on the cake.

Now it’s your turn! What did you watch this weekend?
