Every Monday we can talk about what we watched over the weekend. I’d enjoy hearing what new movies, games, or televisions shows were seen over the weekend. This is what I’ve been watching this weekend.
What Have You Been Watching?
July 16th 2012 Edition
This was one crazy weekend. Well Friday and Saturday not so much, but Sunday made up for it ten-fold. Friday was spent in the pool and enjoying the company of family. We’ll get to Saturday in a bit. Sunday was a fantastic wedding. This was the second wedding I was the best man for this summer and I really enjoyed both. This particular wedding my day started at 9am and ended at 9pm. Yes it was a whole day of fun and festivities.
Movies:
Now I really wanted to watch one of the many Criterion’s I bought over the weekend, but that wasn’t in the cards instead on Saturday night we saw:

Ted: Do not underestimate the Family Guy fans in Rhode Island. I never imagined this movie to be so packed for a 9:45pm showing on its third Saturday night. It was crazy how many people were there for that sitting. We all consider ourselves part of Boston, so that the film was filmed in Beantown meant that much more Rhode Islanders were interested.
I used to really enjoy Family Guy. Until it came back. It lost something in-between those years and it didn’t click for me anymore. Ted is a lot like Family Guy. Written and Directed by the creator of Family Guy, there’s a lot of similarities. No there isn’t as many flashbacks, but there is a lot of Flash Gordon. It helps that I do enjoy Flash Gordon a lot even though its a terrible movie.
I did enjoy Ted, but I don’t believe all the success its gotten is truly because of its quality. I chuckled, but I was never red in the face like other comedy classics or even the more enjoyable 21 Jump Street from earlier in the year.
