Every Monday we can talk about what we watched over the weekend. I’d enjoy hearing what new movies, games, or televisions shows were seen over the weekend. This is what I’ve been watching this weekend.

What Have You Been Watching?

July 9th 2012 Edition

This wasn’t that productive of a weekend in terms of watching new media. I did happen to catch some new episodes of the Summer 2012 Anime Season, but I don’t feel like covering Anime in that extent here. If there are interested parties in the happenings in Japanese Anime, let me know. I’ll include them next week.

Friday, my fiancé and I headed down to beautiful Newport, RI. Nice day, but windy on the beach and the inclusion of tourists for the Tall Ships visit made for a very congested Newport.

Saturday was my friend’s bachelor party. Trying my best to make sure it wasn’t lame, I took him for an afternoon of paintball and an evening of women. When I got home it was about 2 am, so if I remember correctly we had a great time.

Sunday consisted of recovering from Saturday night and watching the Wimbledon Men’s Finals between Federer and Murray. Great tennis match, but once they closed the roof, Federer was unstoppable.

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D – In order to make it up to my Fiance for my outing on Saturday, I had a choice. Either take her to see Magic Mike or Katy Perry: Part of Me. Of course she still wants to see Ted, but she wasn’t going to let me go that easily. I decided on Katy Perry.

If your going to see this movie, see it in 3D. The concert scenes that make up about 40% of the movie were shot with 3D cameras and if your there to see Katy Perry your going to want to see it. Disclaimer: I don’t mind Katy Perry’s music. I’m not sure I’d ever pay to see her perform, but I’ll listen to her CD now and then. My fiancé loves documentaries and she very much enjoys Katy Perry, so she’s been bothering me for weeks to see this. If you’re wondering what it was like – think VH1 storyteller’s with lots of concert footage. If you like Katy Perry music and your interested in her career you could probably do worse.

Now it’s your turn! What did you watch this weekend?
