This time last year I was sat in tears writing this post, ‘I don’t want to go Mummy!’
I had just got back from school where Little Mr A had been in major meltdown, refusing to go through the door and into school. I had to leave him there, screaming after me whilst trying to hold it together in front of all of the other mums and dads. This was easier said than done, particularly as I was heavily pregnant! I walked home in tears and wondered whether I had sent him to school too early? After all, he had only just turned four – perhaps he wasn’t emotionally ready for school? This carried on for some time and eventually I hardened to it a little, I knew he enjoyed school when he actually got in there!
Well, I am pleased to say a year makes all the difference! Now Little Mr A loves being the first one into school in the morning! He lets me wait in the playground, says his goodbyes then he is off, running down the path to make sure he is first into the cloakroom. Although he sometimes says he doesn’t like school and ‘it’s boring’ I know really he loves it as he always comes out full of it and is starting to tell me more and more about his day.
Now I have a tear in my eye because I am so proud of my ever growing little boy.

Reception class – still so young

Going into Year 1 – Look how he has grown!
