Hey friends, happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, although they are always too short, aren’t they? We had a great weekend celebrating Ashton’s birthday with a party on Saturday (more to come on that later.) I can’t believe he will be 3 tomorrow..gosh, it goes by fast!
Anyways, the past few weeks I haven’t had my typical Monday Weekly Wrap Up posts and a few of you have emailed me just checking in to make sure I am okay (thank you, you guys are the best!!) Well, physically, yes I am fine. Mentally, I just haven’t been in the game. Yes, I have been working out like usual, but I’ve been more just going though the motions rather than really “in it.” I haven’t felt like my usual self during my workouts. I haven’t been able to kick it into high gear, if you will, and my running, well its been kind of non-existent. After a lot of thinking over the past week or so, I think a lot of it actually has to do with not having a goal (although the weather doesn’t help things either!) I have no races on the books (although I have thought of a few possibilities), which is generally what keeps me on track and focused–sticking to a plan like my life depends on it.
I’ve mentioned many times before that I like need a plan. I like knowing exactly what I have to do once I step into the gym in the morning and that I don’t have to think about it. Flying by the seat of my pants just doesn’t work for me, I’ve been trying that for the past two weeks and I have been feeling so off and just kind of crappy fitness wise. It’s time for a change.
So, over the past few days I have spent sometime thinking about what my goals were for the next few months and I created my own training plan that incorporates all the things I want to focus on: strength, running, x-training and flexibility. I’m going to give it a try for a few weeks and see how I feel. Wish me luck and look forward to the next week’s Weekly Wrap Up!

Question of the day
Do you need a plan or do you wing it? What are you focusing on right now? What races/challenges do you have scheduled for this year?
