Weekly Marketing Skinny • August 27, 2016

Posted on the 27 August 2016 by Ana Hoffman @AnaTrafficCafe

Don’t have the time to read all the marketing news, blog posts, announcements, and other content related to SEO/social media/online marketing published each week?

I’ve got you covered.

I sift through trillions (well, hundreds) of online publications to stay on top of marketing news that might affect your online business.

And I package them neatly in bite-sized chunks in my Weekly Marketing Skinnies right here at Traffic Generation Café every Saturday morning.

Now grab your cup of coffee and let’s catch up on the marketing news that matter to your business.

Let’s start with what’s new at Traffic Generation Café.

‘What’s up with the video?…’ you ask?

That’s my new web traffic driver 👍 💣‼️- I call them ‘blog post video summaries‘.

You can learn more about the technique and how I actually make these videos in the post below.

5 Brilliant Ways to Go Blog-to-Video with Content Samurai [Review, Tutorial, Discount]

Search

‘Mobile-friendly’ label will be dropped in Google mobile search, mobile-friendly ranking signal will stay.

Do you use list building plugins that block the entire page? 👉 Google will launch a search algorithm penalty to demote mobile pages with “intrusive” interstitials.

Google has removed the policy of limiting AdSense ads to 3 ads per page.

Interesting search tip: searching for ** pulls up a list websites for physically nearby businesses.

Have some time to spare? Google rolled out Solitaire and Tic-tac-toe games directly in search.

By the way… to stay on top of marketing news as they happen, be sure to follow me on Facebook.

Social Media

WhatsApp will start sharing your info with Facebook – you have 30 days to opt out.

Twitter launched Message button for people to direct message businesses from their sites. This might be GREAT for marketers with a heavy Twitter presence.

Instapaper has been acquired by Pinterest.

Thank You

To all of you who mentioned Traffic Generation Café in any shape or form in the past week, my whole-hearted THANK YOU.
