I can't ignore the fact that it has been pretty quiet over here on the blog throughout the summer. This is for a number of reasons. I could blame it on the fact I hit up some traveling and moved house, however it's mostly due to lack of motivation and my addiction to re-reading the entire Harry Potter series. You haven't missed out on much as not a great deal has changed except my drive for eating clean and exercising.
The new flat I have moved into is absolutely incredible. I still can't believe we all managed to pull enough strings to be able to whip it up. I wake up every morning and can see the sea through the balcony without having to even lift my head of the pillow. If this wasn't enough (and sorry for gushing), the complex also has a residents gym which is only a hop, skip and a few jumps down the stairs.
I started going to the gym just as a novelty but after my first few appearances I started to notice myself really enjoying it. I was beginning to get the urge to pump some iron, so I decided it was time to invest in some proper gym attire and set myself some targets. I am setting myself the challenge of racking up 100km a month with the hope to compete in a half marathon within the next year. So far I have been really enjoying it and have become quite addicted to feeling of success that supersedes the blood, sweat and tears you acquire to get there.
I never thought I could honestly say that I enjoy exercise, but thankfully it seems it has finally happened and I am absolutely loving it.
