A homemade solution using half white vinegar and half water will get your entire car exterior clean, from the windows to the paint. Clean the vinyl interior and restore its luster with a mixture made of half vinegar and half jojoba or olive oil.
• Use the right supplies. Paper towels and disposable car cleaning cloths aren’t good for the environment, and some paper towels are so rough they might scratch your car. And while you may be tempted to reuse old T-shirts or other fabrics when washing your car, they may be harmful to your car’s finish. Use only materials that are recommended for cars.
• Environmentally friending washing and rinsing techniques. Where you wash your car is just as important as how. Park your car on the grass to avoid having the cleansing solution run off and into the sewer system. Reduce water usage for washing and rinsing by filling a bucket twice with the vinegar and water washing solution, then two to three times more to rinse the car. Start at the top for more efficient rinsing.
