Ben Steigmann writes:
By that, I mean that CM is a Trotskyist movement:
Stalin was a semi- Fascist National Bolshevik – in between Communism and National Bolshevism.
The Trots never tried to encourage degeneracy in the West as a form of revolution. I doubt if any Marxists did. The idea is that Marxists deliberately disparaged marriage in order to destroy Western society so they could have a revolution. Yet the Trots tried to scale back or get rid of marriage in the USSR itself in the 1920’s. Were they trying to destroy the USSR. This is such nonsense. The idea was that marriage was a bourgeois and oppressive institution and they had similar views about the family. This formulation goes back to one of Engels’ books. Most Communists since 1927 have not tried to get rid of or scale back on either marriage or the family.
I am not sure if Stalin was a NatBol. I am dubious myself. NatBols seem a little too comfy with fascism, and Stalin hated fascists more than any man alive. I do like the idea of National Communism though. That was great.
