The Little A’s were recently sent a new book as a member of the Parragon Book Buddies programme. Wakey, Wakey Big Brown Bear written by Tracey Corderoy is a lovely book about friendship.
The premise of the book is that Big Brown Bear is going to hibernate as it is Autumn. He is sad that he will miss all the best bits about autumn and winter like crunching through leaves, splashing in puddles and playing in the snow. When his friends see how sad he is they decide to surprise Big Brown Bear when he wakes up in the Spring by keeping a little bit of Autumn and Winter for him to enjoy!
It really is a lovely story that is great to help children learn about friendship and the seasons. It reminds me a little of the new John Lewis Christmas advert! Maybe that is where they got their idea from?!
Little Mr A loved the story and it is a lovely book to read at bedtime. The illustrations are really engaging with lots of talking points too.
We would highly recommend this book to everyone!
