So initially when I thought of this post I wanted to name it "Gypsy Vintage Chic Funk" BUT obviously that would have been a little excessive. I just felt that all those words together basically explained my look and the look I was going for. Lately, I've been rummaging through my mothers closet and little by little I've been stealing things. Well, technically borrowing. At least that is what I tell her.
Moving on...........................
The reason why "stealing" things from my mothers closest works so well nowadays because fashion has come full circle. What is old, is now new. Well, I think that is just stating an obvious. A specific trend that I am currently loving is the long printed skirts. Not the maxi skirts that hit all the way to the floor. I am a little short for those BUT the ones that are ankle length. I have seen them everywhere and before I went out to buy any, I remembered my mom owned a whole bunch back in the 90's. So what did I do? I took them and styled it, The Fashion Beauty Junkie way!
Check Out My Outfit..........

I loved telling people who complimented my skirt that "I got it from my Momma". I felt like it made my outfit so much better. I mean, it's easy to say "I bought it at American Apparel" but cooler to say "hey, thanks, I paid nothing for this because I have a trendy mom". You know?
The good part about fashion, is that sometimes you don't have to look far for things that are in trend. The best part about style, is what you make of that trend. If I had to give one piece of advice when rejuvenating a vintage piece is, keep it simple and add pop. My pop was the Chanel bag and the accessories. It took my outfit from being plain to chic.
Until next time or next outfit...................
