China Rats - Don't Play With Fire EP

It’s the tail end of the 1970s, Sid Vicious is dead and the Ford Granada rides high – Only it isn’t. This is modern day Yorkshire, though some may argue that the outlook is similar…

China Rats are a punk rock force from Leeds who are releasing their debut EP titled Don’t Play With Fire on October 14 (digital and vinyl).
Punk and post-punk sounds in the vein of The Kinks, Buzzcocks and even Sham 69, the EP was recorded in their hometown and produced and mixed by Matt Peel (Pulled Apart By Horses) at Cottage Road Studios.
Though I haven’t heard the full EP (yet), Graeme Thomson (vocals), Luke Smith (guitar), Jedidiah Allcock (bass) and George Riley (drums) have a reason to be proud. Together with artist and film maker Richard Swarbrick, they have created an innovative video for the first single, ‘N.O.M.O.N.E.Y.’
A great teaser for next week Monday’s release as well as their live performances.
