Yes. It's yet another subscription box post. So far, I've really enjoyed the Vegan Cuts Beauty Boxes, but I don't think there's been enough time to give it a fair decision yet. I love that it's Vegan & Cruelty-Free, so I'm sure I'll continue subscribing for quite a while! :) So let's see how the third installment stacks up! :)
The first thing I noticed about September's box was the seriously strong scent of lavender. Some people love it, but I cannot stand lavender. I actually had to move the box into another room to avoid the smell! So, right off the bat, I wasn't thrilled about something included. It turned out to be a bar of soap from The Fanciful Fox (I might add that they've had a product in every box so far). It looks like a nice soap, it's just lavender scented and it is so so so strong! If you like lavender, you'll love this. Sadly, I can't even be in the same room with it because of my strong dislike of lavender. :( Cute packaging though!
Next, I found another lavender scented product. :( This one is from Beauty Without Cruelty and it is a Premium Aromatherapy Shampoo in "Lavender Highland." Sadly, it stinks of lavender, although it's not too terribly strong so maybe I'll give it a shot. Maybe on a day I'm feeling particularly stressed or having trouble sleeping. Actually, it's not a bad lavender scent at all. Even though I'm not a fan of lavender, I think this one might be one I can handle. It's a decent, kind of standard travel sized bottle, so that's nice too! :)
Now we're through the haze of lavender stench, so is the rest worth while? Well, next we have a sampling of Body Lotions from Weleda. They're all a really nice size and there are four different scents included! There is a Hydrating Body Lotion in Citrus, a Regenerating Body Lotion in Pomegranate, a Pampering Body Lotion in Wild Rose, and a Replenishing Body Lotion in Sea Buckthorn. Really nice and thank god none of these are scented with lavender! :) I think BirchBox sent little foil packet versions of these lotions recently, but I never tried them because they were in foil packets. These are perfect for throwing in a handbag or traveling, so really nice samples!!! :)
The next item is from Manic Panic and it is from their "Creature of the Night" Collection. It is the Eye Wear Shadow and Liner in "Raven." The packaging kind of looks like a casket, but not overtly so, and it contains a black cake liner and a shadow. It also comes with a dual ended brush and smudger, which actually looks kind of useful. I like that the compact has a full length mirror and I really like the idea of having a cream liner and a powder that can be used to set it all in one package. I must say that I don't use black eyeshadow all that often, but it's a good staple to have. And it is useful for setting liner if you so choose.
Now on to the weirdness of this month's box. There is a coupon code for a free pantyliner from Glad Rags. Yes. You read that right. A pantyliner. Not only that, it's reusable. I don't know about you, but aside from hating pantyliners, I really don't want to have to wash them and reuse them. I know it's better for the environment, but I really really don't wanna deal with it! I doubt I'll be using the code to actually try it out because it's just not my thing.
Keeping with the strangeness, but moving into foil packet territory, there is a foil packed from Good Clean Love of their Almost Naked Personal Lubricant. Yup. You read that one right too. I suppose there's a place for this one too, but it's not what I think of finding in a beauty box. Thanks, I guess?
And finally, another foil packet from Weleda. It is a sample of their Citrus Refreshing Body Oil. I'm not a huge fan of body oil, but I may give it a shot. I'm not sure about using an oil from a foil packet. Sounds rather messy, but we'll see!
I'm not going to lie. I'm not thrilled with this month's box. If there hadn't been so many lavender scented items, it would have been better, but still, a pantyliner and personal lubricant? Kinda weird. Hopefully next month will contain better surprises. What do you think? Do you think items like that are a great idea in a beauty box? I can see it more in a lifestyle type box, which this kind of borders on, but it's not what I think of for a beauty box. You win some, you lose some I guess! :) Thanks for checking out this month's Vegan Cuts Beauty Box with me and if you're interested in receiving your own, just click on this link!!! :)
