If your name is Tracy and you have an arm that drives a Ford, this post may be especially cool for you (ok…so that was lame). I may be going a bit out of order from our cruise itinerary (see Skagway and Juneau pics here), but a little Tracy Arm is better late than never!

The Tracy Arm Fjord (pronounced “fee-yord”) is a narrow inlet carved out by glaciers and named after Civil War general, Benjamin Franklin Tracy. Approximately 45 miles south of Juneau, we sailed through this ice-dotted passageway on the second day of the cruise, our first full day at sea.

Everyone huddled on deck to soak in the views of waterfalls, bright blue icebergs and towering cliffs – if they could stand the wind! Needless to say, our routine hot chocolate came in handy after heading back indoors :)

Have you ever taken a chilly vacation in the summer? If you could, where would you go?
