Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ever since I was young, I would always stare blankly through our window, piercing my line of vision to the horizon. As to what I'm looking at, I don't exactly know.
Vivid are the memories of moments I sit by our window on lazy afternoons waiting for the time when my feet take its lead and bring me to places I can only read in books.
Over time, the desire to explore places and meet new people became stronger.
I, like any of us, decided to take that step and start on a venture; a venture to quench that thirst for adrenalin and experience; a journey to life.I travel because I want to see the world. I want to experience how locals naturally live life.
I want to go beyond being a tourist.
I want to uncover off -the-beaten-track kind of wonders each place can offer.I travel not to compete as it is not a contest of firsts.
I write not to impress as it is not about one's literary prowess.
I write and travel because it helps me define who I am.Ultimately, I'm doing this to remind myself of how vast the world is.
I'm putting up this site to chronicle my adventures and mishaps. It's an outlet to store not just my experiences during trips but also my overall journey through life. This is my personal sanctuary where I gather my thoughts and learning; so that when the time comes, my children (and their children's children) can get a feel of our time and who I am as a person.
This is not a travel blog.
I don't consider myself a travel blogger. That's a very very big shoe to fill in.
I travel. I write. That's it. No labels necessary.
Plus, I don't get to travel as much as I want given that I'm a corporate slave.
I'm not particularly choosy when it comes to destinations. I'm all in for the ride.At the end of the day, it's not always the destination but the journey that counts the most.
I know you probably heard that before. It's a cliche but you've got to agree that it's true.
You see, life is not always a walk in the park. What's important is the lesson we bag each time we take a step forward. So...take pleasure in every bumps in the road, swirls here and there coz' life's full of little 'whacky' adventures.
