Below is my university work we were asked to research the spring/summer 13 collections and from that we were asked to pick a trend that has been shown on the catwalks and create a diffusion line from a designer we liked and a high street clothing shop we thought could work well together. Sort of like when Jimmy Choo and H&M got together, but instead my diffusion line won't be happening and this is just purely an assignment i was given which i would like to share with everyone.
Above is a mood board based of Christopher Kane's Spring Summer collection '13. I chose to base my diffusion line on this particular collection as i love the colours chosen, the simplicity of the collection but also when you take a closer look it was based on horror. With plastic bolts all through the collection and 'colours that make you feel sick'
A trend that stood out for me over the catwalks was the use of plastic and vinyl in the garments. This is quite unusually and really captures your eye. Above is my mood board showing the trend.
Above is a mood board focusing on the details i have liked over the SS13 collections, i picked up mainly on tailoring and the use of panelling. I chose to do the diffusion line with Zara, i think i could meet in the middle with quite an 'out there' designer and a more sophisticated brand like Zara Below are my final 16 designs i used similar colours to what Christopher Kane had used in the SS13 collection.
Below are the flats for every garment used in the designs.
(SORRY FOR THE WATERMARKS, BUT I DONT WANT MY WORK TO BE UNCREDITED)
let me know what you think about the diffusion line i created! leigh xo
