TV Review: LAST MAN ON EARTH is a Different Kind of a Comedy
Four episodes down, I'm starting to enjoy this new single-camera FOX comedy. Is it too early to review it as a series? Probably. But, I decided it's worth writing something about this post-apocalyptic comedy series, just to let you guys know that it's worth a watch.
Spoilers Ahead!!
TV Review: LAST MAN ON EARTH is a Different Kind of a Comedy
So here's what the show is all about. After a deadly virus kill every human being on earth, the last remaining human Phil Miller (Will Forte) goes from city to city looking for survivors but he fails to find a single living thing on earth. Just when he was about to give up on life, he find another human. Not just a human, but a woman named Carol (Kristen Schaal). Phil haven't been laid since the apocalypse and he has no option but to marry this strange annoying woman to get some action. But soon after getting married, he discovers that Carol is not the only woman left on earth. And also, as it turns out, Phil isn't the only man left on earth. He comes in contact with another man later in the show.
Things get complicated for Phil. He used to live a simple life, flirting with mannequins, drinking with his basketballs and destroying Mustang supercars for fun. Now he's on an important mission to repopulate the earth. And he's stuck with a nut-job of a wife. As you can imagine, it's pretty damn hilarious.
TV Review: LAST MAN ON EARTH is a Different Kind of a Comedy
Unlike many other sitcom's and comedy's that forces you to tickle yourself to laugh, Last Man on Earth brings a different style of a comedy that I haven't seen on TV before. Sure, a love triangle sounds a bit cliched but it's not the type of a story you see in chick flicks. Plus the post-apocalyptic background makes it all fun to watch.
If you're stuck between Modern Family and Big Bang Theory, Last Man on Earth will be a great change of pace. The new comedy airs every Sunday 9.30/8.30 central on FOX.
