Tuscan Gems – Barratti

By Ingridd @cosytraveler

Last April, Lars and I spent 10 days in Tuscany, about 70 kilometers to the southeast of Livorno. We made several excursions, usually to unknown places; one of them was Barratti.

Barratti is only a very small town with 15 inhabitants. It has Etruscan origins, which you can admire in an archaeological park. We didn’t visit it, since there were way too many tourists. The bay with a small harbor is also popular, especially when its windy; the place is swarming with (wind)surfers. Quite a charming place and a good start of our trip!
