Turkey

By Rubytuesday
It's our first proper day in Turkey We woke at about 8amAnd headed down to the basement kitchen for breakfastIt's kind of self service here You just take what you wantAnd head up to the roof terraceWhich has some spectacular viewsI was following the rest upstairsTrying to balance my tray of beautiful foodI made my way in to the elevator And promptly spilled a glass of orange juice everywhereOn the floor On my feet In the elevatorA woman came and helped me clean upAnd I headed up to the roof terraceWhat a beautiful place to eat your breakfast I just had a slice of toast and an eggAs I want to keep my energy upBut I don't want to feel too fullLast night we went out for dinnerI was sure that I wouldn't like the food here But it was really deliciousWe ordered lots of little sharing platesLike stuffed peppers And various dipsThen we had two lamb dishes which were so yummyIt's nice to eat like that As you can just nibble away at whatever you fancyAfter that We went back to the hotel for an early nightAs we were all pretty wrecked

I've been wondering how to manage my meds while I'm hereSo I've kind of been experimenting with where and when to take them This morning I took them as prescribedBut half way through breakfastI was on the nodAnd falling asleepSo while the others finished their foodI headed back to the room for a little napI slept for about 20minsMet up with the others And we headed out to explore Our first port of callWas the Galtara TowerWhich we climbed to see panoramic views of the cityTo be honest though I couldn't enjoy it or appreciate itAs I was just too groggyAfter about an hour I made the decision to go back to the hotel To recharge my batteries And have a sleepShe that's where I am nowI feel like such a light weightAnd lesson learned with my medsI will now either take them at nightOr not take the tablets at all All I can do now is restAnd be fighting fit for tomorrowIt's amazing I'm sitting here at the balcony of our roomIt's 1pmAnd I can hear the call to prayer in the distance It happens a few times a dayAnd there is something enchanting about hearing itI haven't taken many photos yet Below is a small selectionHopefully I will be back to myself tomorrowAnd will take Istanbul by storm....
