Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden
the Indira Gandhi tulip garden is the largest tulip garden of Asia that is spread in an astounding 12 hectares with nearly 12 lakh bulbs dancing in the breeze. The garden is a major tourism spot and sometimes it’s opened early before the scheduled time for the visit of the tourists during the blooming period. Formerly this garden was known as the Siraj Bagh. The plantation is done on a commercial scale and these flowers reach the markets of Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
The Mughal Gardens
the beauty of the state even inspired the ancient Mughal rulers to add to the love in the place. The Mughal rulers during their time built several gardens in the Srinagar not only with the flowers but also the excellent canals and the fountains to decorate these parks. The Shankaracharaya Temple
This temple is dedicated to the ancient Indian philosopher Shankaracharaya and attracts many Hindu devotees to this place and is also considered sacred by the Buddhist monks. The temple is built at an elevation of about 1000 ft from the city. History tells the temple was built by an ancient ruler of Kashmir king Sanidam.
Chashma Shahi
the Chashma Shahi is also a garden in Srinagar and is believed to be built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1632. The garden is one of the popular choices of the tourists. The running freshwaters in the canals the 24 hrs a day makes the environment so much vibrant and fresh.
Pratap Singh Museum
Located in Lal Mandi the museum puts to exhibition the art and crafts of the people of the valley. On Wednesdays the museum remains closed and for the rest of the days it remains open from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening.
