Top Track Tuesday - #26

Posted on the 04 September 2012 by Tlb Music Blog @TLB_Blog

It's been a while since hearing from Seye. His last track, from what I know, was White Noise which I loved to pieces, but this time round he has made a much happier and radio friendly single that has easily made it to this week's Top Track pole position. Its constant cheerful vibe is what really does it, especially when there's under a week until I and many others go back to Uni/School/College - Thank you Seye.
Within the first few bars your head is bopping to the beat. You'd expect the vocal of Ed McFarlane to come in due to the incredibly Friendly Fire-esque music, but when Seye jumps in that void, it's still a pleasant surprise and good to see that someone else can make such joyful music.
The perky spin on Hawaiian-esque music is what really sells this and it is there from the very second it all starts. The chorus, which really is infectious, contagious and incredible, picks up just enough that a progression is noticeable and so that the peak is reached at its proper place.
The lyrics, which I know some of you will be up in arms about, aren't the best that anyone could have made, however, they have their moments (e.g. "You can lie when you're sleeping, you can lie when you're awake"), and, in such a cheerful tune, it really doesn't matter what he is singing about ... I mean, he could literally sing about the most political of views, but in this melody, you've got to love it.
As before explained, you can't help but enjoy this song as it's full of fun ... which is something that doesn't seem to get much attention nowadays - not until something truly fantastic comes about, but, for me, this is that fantastic track and I reckon it can get the recognition it deserves.
Seye brings us this week's Top Track on Tuesday and it's a bit of a corker for the last, sun-filled week of Summer for many.
Paul.
