I had never heard of Tonya Godsey so when I saw she had a new CD called Love Lines The Last Horizon, I was very interested to learn more about her. The album itself will be released for sale to the public on September 30, so I was really fortunate to receive a copy early!
The music was nice – as in perfect background music if you need a break from the loudness of the world, which is exactly where I was when I began listening to it. A crazy day in a law office as a real estate closer translated to the fact that I needed something pretty soothing and this album totally fit the bill. Ms. Godsey’s beautiful voice is ethereal – if I ever tried to imagine what an angel’s voice might sound like, I now know it would sound like Tonya Godsey’s voice.
…and as far as the songs go specifically, I’m usually all about the lyrics first, and the band second and then the singing. In the case of Love Lines The Last Horizon, I didn’t actually hear all the words and I didn’t pay attention to the band. I listened to the voice, the singing, and it was beautiful. There wasn’t one song on this album that I didn’t like – they were so soothing and meaningful to me.
