I treated myself (only way isn't it!) to some roses last week from my favorite L'dell (yes, okay I know it's Lidl...) for a bargain £1.99 and they eventually began to die......The outer petals, stalks and leaves were all dry and crispy and I was about to chop them up for the compost bin when I thought I'd 'deconstruct' the flower heads. I was delighted to find them still moist and fragrant inside so separated the petals and put them in a bowl next to my bed - nice eh?
