In just over a weeks time I will be attending my first blogging conference in Manchester organised by the lovely Laura from Tired Mummy of Two as part of Blogs Up North.
I am both excited and nervous! I am really looking forward to meeting up again with some fabulous bloggers who have accepted me into this wonderful community and lots of new faces who I have been speaking to online.
When I started my blog in October last year I had no idea what I had let myself in for! I started blogging whilst I was on maternity leave awaiting the birth of my daughter. My son had started school in the September and I was becoming increasingly frustrated sat at home doing nothing but watching daytime TV. I needed an outlet. Something to keep my mind going and so I sat down in front of the computer and started writing about me and my family. I didn’t know how long it would last. Was it just a fad that would pass? I certainly didn’t think I would be updating my blog on a daily basis (thanks to the wonderful 365 project).
In the 9 months I have been blogging I have met some lovely people, had some fantastic free days out and some great products to review. I can’t believe I had no idea this wonderful world and community ever existed up until 9 months ago!
So, who am I? My name is Tami, I’m 31 and I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire, not far from Hull. I am really a Lincolnshire lass, only moving up her in October 2011 to be near to my husband and his work. He had been commuting weekly for a year previous to this and I had stayed in Lincolnshire with Little Mr A, only getting to see each other properly at weekends. It was the hardest year of my life but I had great support and we made it through the other side!
Before I had Little Miss A I worked part time as a Law Costs Draftsman at a local firm of solicitors. I have decided to give that up for the moment to concentrate on the family for a while. Some days I love it, other days I crave some me time and adult conversation!
Other than my children, my blog is my hobby and passion at the moment and all this leaves very little time for anything else! When we do get time to ourselves we enjoy going to the cinema or watching live music.
