Hellooo!
It’s been a while, but I’ve been so busy lately. With lot’s of work to be doing, playing the role of a little mom and trying to squidge in some free time. In fact – I’ve been on the same page of my book ‘The River’ ~ Tricia Wastvedt for almost 3 weeks, I’m going to have to do that truly annoying routine of reading back a few pages to remember what’s been occurring.
It’s come to my attention that a large amount of my wardrobe is from Charity Shop’s, I am not complaining about this – I’m impressed, proud kinda. Think how much money I have donated to charity, whilst gaining a whole new wardrobe!! It has ALSO come to my attention that my hair looks as though it has been dip-dyed, upside down. Neither of which was a look I was going for. The ends of my hair has stained from years of black dye and so has been un-budgable, which has resulted in ginger ends and light roots – oh joy!
This weekend was a good one I think, regardless of the crap weather. Friday night we went to my uncle’s pub in Shirley for drink’s, I got into the Summer and Wimbledon spirit with plenty of Pimm’s and then we stayed over. We slept in my uncle’s room – which I am so envious of, it’s humongous and I could see all the beautiful thing’s I would do with it if it was mine, because at the moment it’s a bit of a bachelor room – 4 walls and a bed (and a TV/DVD set of course!). The best part about this family sleepover was my cousin’s dog, a seriously girly shih tzu/lhasa apso that was mine for the cuddling muahahaha. Saturday we were supposed to drive to Castle Combe but the weather was so dire that we didn’t, we drove into Kenilworth for the charity shops – surprise surprise and headed to my grandma’s house for fish&chips and a good old case of photographic nostalgia (oo oo, I forgot, I found out my family used to own a fairground named ”Drakeley’s Fairground” (the family name). I wish fairground’s were the same, quaint funfair type as back then, they had so much more class and elegance in that black&white photograph than today!). Kingsley was lucky enough to be graced with the presence of my grandad’s extensive Toby Jug collection – who’s he to moan about musical jug’s with men’s faces on?
Sunday we chilled, I did some house work and cooked us some lunch/dinner and then we took these picture’s of my outfit. There really was no fooling the sun, as hard as I tried with bright jeans, a white smock and floral’s; it continued to rain and rain and rain and rain.
The thing I am most excited for is at the end of July, it cannot come quick enough. We’re driving over to Portugal with my mom and brother, to leave the car at our house in Portugal, as my mom is there so often. We are driving to Portsmouth, staying on an overnight cruise to land in Santander – Spain, then driving from Spain down to the house which is on the outskirts of Silves. On the way down we are staying overnight in Braga and having a look around the city, visiting Évora so we can see the Capela dos Ossos – Chapel of Bones, woo creepy! Then eventually getting down to the house to stay for a couple of weeks, then me and Kingsley fly back home, while my mom and brother stay for 6 weeks – I wish we had a more flexible job! So yes, I can’t wait for this. We also want to book a 5 day break in a European city somewhere in perhaps September, then a week’s break over New Year somewhere else, if anybody know’s of anywhere nice please tell me!
Anyway that’s all for now, will hopefully getting my sewing bee on this week, ordered a mass of fabric, let’s see how this goes…
(oo oo, I seem to keep creating a lot of posts on Amazine, I think it’s the simplicity, come and join!)
