There’s Definitely Value in Taking “Me-Time”

By Bren @Virtual_Bren

“Me-Time” is defined as  the time a person has to himself or herself, in which to do something for his or her own enjoyment”.

I thoroughly enjoy “me-time” but since getting married over 10-years ago, I’ve had to be creative in finding ways to have it. Generally, a “personal day” off from work is just the “me-time” I need.

There's Definitely Value in Taking

How Do I Spend My “Me-Time”?

  • I like to sleep in – no getting up at 5 am and getting more morning started.
  • Wake up time – get up and get my dog fed and out to pee.
  • Back to bed – watching tv in bed in my jammies is very therapeutic.
  • Shower – shower anytime during the day but make sure to do it cause I definitely don’t want to stink.
  • Food – make sure to eat breakfast or lunch and throw down a few sodas.
  • Movies – the more movies, especially horror movies, I can fit into my “me-time”, the better I feel.
  • Mail – manage somehow to get outside and get the mail.
  • Pee-time – don’t forget the numerous pee breaks during the day for your dog.
  • Playtime – if your dog is like mine, he’s so used to be alone during the day that he generally naps on your bed all day long. Playtime is very minimal.
  • Couch time – be sure to spend time chilling on the couch with your laptop and movies.
  • Texting – check in with your hubs periodically during the day to see how he’s doing. Mind you, he may already be angry that you took the day off just to lounge around the house.

There are many benefits of taking “me-time”.

  • Maintain a good sense of self.
